The opening of the exhibition In Between a Craft World, hosted in one of the rooms of the Museo del Metaverso, was more than an artistic event: it was a genuine moment of community. Those in attendance showed a keen and active interest in the exhibition and its curation, guided with sensitivity and expertise by Roberto Presicci and Massimo Sgroi. During the opening, Damiano Errico, one of the artists featured in the exhibition, shared the profound meaning of his work, helping to generate an intense dialogue between the public, the works and the curators.
The title In Between immediately suggests the essence of the project: a journey between the digital and human dimensions, between perceived and imagined reality, between what is outside and what is inside us. The exhibition — as was observed during the meeting — works on the margin, on the interstice, on the threshold: that mobile boundary between the physical and virtual worlds, between the visible and the interior, between what separates us and what unites us.
The exhibition itself at Craft World, together with the two twin exhibitions in Second Life and Spatial, amplifies this meaning: the exhibition space is not just a container but an active part of the narrative. In this sense, In Between fully embodies the vocation of the Museo del Metaverso, which does not merely host art but accompanies, preserves and safeguards it as a shared cultural heritage.
The exhibition will remain on view at its location in Craft as a permanent part of the Museum’s collection, bearing witness to a time and a vision, and as a tangible sign of an art that knows how to unite worlds, languages and people. Because, as the works on display remind us, there is always a “between” in which to find ourselves. A between that is not separation, but encounter.
