Every year on March 17 the world turns green to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, the holiday dedicated to Saint Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. Over time, this celebration has moved beyond the island’s borders to become a moment of cultural sharing marked by music, storytelling, and tradition.

This celebration also finds its place in the Metaverse. This year, DJ Monica Martini dedicated a special evening to it within a sim she designed and created specifically for the occasion: an immersive environment inspired by Irish imagery, with green landscapes, traditional symbols, and atmospheres that evoke the legends of the island.

In Irish folklore, green is not only the color of meadows and hills, but also of the invisible world of ancient fairy creatures. Among them stands the figure of the Leprechaun, the small and cunning shoemaker of the fairies who, according to legend, guards a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. An ironic and elusive presence in Celtic folklore, the Leprechaun has gradually become one of the most recognizable symbols of Saint Patrick’s celebrations.

The setting of the sim evoked precisely this universe suspended between nature and myth: shamrocks scattered throughout the landscape, references to popular legends, and atmospheres reminiscent of the Ireland of stories told in pubs and around the fire. The shamrock is in fact one of the symbols most closely associated with Saint Patrick, who according to tradition used it to explain the mystery of the Trinity.

The evening unfolded as a musical journey alternating contemporary folk with more modern sounds, creating a continuous dialogue between roots and reinterpretations. The musical selection accompanied visitors along a sonic path capable of evoking that particular festive energy that characterizes Saint Patrick’s celebrations around the world.

Events like this show how virtual environments can become vibrant cultural spaces, capable of hosting not only exhibitions and artistic installations but also musical and celebratory gatherings. The evening hosted by Monica Martini was, in this sense, a successful example of how ancient traditions can find new forms of expression on digital platforms.

In the symbolic green of Saint Patrick’s Day, among music, legends, and virtual encounters, the celebration crossed the screen to remind us that even in the Metaverse traditions continue to reinvent themselves.
