The collective exhibition “La Terra Inquieta” (The Restless Earth), organized by the Metaverso Museum and inaugurated on March 21, 2024, is an artistic event that explores the themes of war, migration and the environment through the works of 27 international artists.
I would very much like to thank all the artists who answered my call and participated in the collective, without them this exhibition could not have been organised and for this I thank them wholeheartedly.
The title is inspired by that of the 2017 Milan Triennale, itself borrowed from the poetry collection of Édouard Glissant, a Caribbean author who has dedicated his entire oeuvre to analysing and celebrating the coexistence of different cultures. The exhibition presents twenty-four installations including 3D sculptures, videos, photographs and works created with artificial intelligence. Located in the Metaverse Craft World in Opensim, this exhibition invites reflection on the global challenges of our time, offering new perspectives and stimulating dialogue on issues crucial to the future of humanity.
The exhibition explores the plight of migrants, the devastation of war and the environmental crisis, highlighting the challenges and transformations that characterise our time. Through art, the causes and consequences of wars, the dynamics of migration and the impact of climate change are investigated. The installations offer new perspectives and prompt an open dialogue on these topics, with the aim of raising public awareness and promoting active engagement for a more sustainable and peaceful future.
Wars are addressed in their effects and causes, while immigration is represented in the bitter reality of the tragic shipwrecks in the Mediterranean Sea. The environment is addressed with a focus on the climate crisis, biodiversity and sustainability.
In conclusion, ‘The Restless Earth’ is an exhibition that invites deep reflection and active engagement, offering the public an opportunity to better understand and act in the face of the global challenges that await us.
